KWS training program begins successfully in 2022 with 37 new apprentices

Einbeck, August 10, 2022

Thirty-seven young people began their apprenticeships at KWS on August 1. The majority of the career-starters will work in Einbeck, while others will have positions at the Berlin, Petkus, Wohlde, Klein Wanzleben, Wetze and Seligenstadt locations. The new apprentices will receive training to become industrial clerks, industrial sales representatives in wholesale and export management, plant technologists, industrial mechanics and technicians for industrial electronics engineering. In addition, five students are beginning their dual-study programs in business administration and business informatics.

The training supervisors kicked off the onboarding week by welcoming the apprentices who then spent several days learning about their work environments and the company. Besides team games and networking, plans for the week also included a tour of the company as well as tips and instructions for beginning the apprenticeship program. The new trainees also got to enjoy a guided tour of Einbeck and visits to a breeding station and KWS farms in Wetze and Wiebrechtshausen. During the introductory week, the apprentices also got to meet their “buddies”, KWS apprentices who are farther along in their programs and who can draw from their experience to support the newcomers. In addition, the new apprentices will be able to participate in further training programs to deepen their job-specific knowledge.

“We offer the onboarding week because we want to immediately give our new apprentices the feeling they’re part of the company — by making initial contacts with colleagues, becoming familiar with the work environment and obtaining new knowledge,” says Yvonne Knaak-Schweiß, Head Apprenticeship Coordinator and Head of Training for Business Occupations at KWS. “This helps apprentices start their training programs well prepared.”

The beginning of the new apprenticeship year also marks the start of the application process for the 2023 apprenticeship program. You can obtain further information about training opportunities at KWS under Schülerpraktika und Ausbildung - Karriere - KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA (available in German only). All those interested are also invited to attend Apprenticeship Day at the KWS premises in Einbeck on September 3, 2022, starting at 10 a.m.!
